I hate working a 9 to 5. I disdain more, working under capitalistic corporate hives and the feeling of being put in a box (or in your place). There is no room for creativity, and if you do have the “opportunity” to do so, you’re still forced to conform to old fashioned, sexist and prejudiced guidelines. We all crave an escape from the monotonous working drone existence. Wake up, drag your feet getting ready, go to work, try to not count down the minutes, go home, and dread doing it all again tomorrow. Life should mean more than wash, rinse, repeat. After complaining numerous times to coworkers, friends and family, we woke up one day and decided it was time to nurture our creative souls and escape the zombie existence society would have us live in.
Writing/reading have always been our favorite escapes and we have always had a passion for these creative outlets. So we thought: why not make a career out of it. We had toyed with the idea of a podcast and of course the books we would write some day, but we finally realized dreams don’t accomplish themselves. Then the light bulb went off and we found our starting point: the somewhat anonymous world of blogging. This gave us the platform to start the beautiful and terrifying journey of putting our creative art out there for the world to see. After some trials and errors, the decision came to use this blog to display our written pieces and to open the discussion with the writing community. Our hope for this content is to introduce ourselves to the writing and entrepreneur worlds wherein we hope to create a successful business someday.
The point of this post is to encourage you all to pursue your dreams and passions. You may be on the precipice of change, and boy can it be scary, but if you don’t take that first step, you’ll never know what wonders are waiting for you. So do it. Fall into the rabbit hole. Create your own Wonderland. Then we can all be mad together, thriving in our fantastical, whimsical worlds.
